Work Experience – SPIROL International Corp
SPIROL International Corp | Work Experience
- Identified desktop and laptop replacements by determining corporate requirements. Presented comparable vendor solutions, obtained quotes and provided supporting documentation for the capital package. Assisted in the deployment of the hardware.
- Implemented BMC Patch Management to allow for centralized management and patching for all applications such as Windows, Office, Adobe, etc. This solution significantly reduced the time required to build packages for deployment on 400 plus computers corporate wide.
- Coordinated the Intel server upgrades and replacements by working with our business partner to identify the technology solution. Obtained quotes and provided supporting documentation for the capital package. Helped define then executed the upgrade plan to the new hardware platform.
- Coordinated the SAN implementation solution at our Connecticut and Ohio locations. Worked with our business partner to identify the solution, obtain quotes and provided supporting documentation for the capital package. Helped define then executed the upgrade plan to the new storage array.
- Implemented VMware technology to all corporate locations as part of the server refresh process. All standalone servers were migrated into virtual machines consolidating hardware deployments improving power and cooling requirements. Completed multiple upgrades of the VMware platform either by being physically onsite or remotely using remote access technologies built into the server hardware.
- Upgraded all servers corporate wide from Windows Server 2003 to 2012. This required working with each application vendor to determine and implement any actions needed to move to the new platform.
- Deployed Microsoft Active Directory. Planned and executed steps required to enroll computers and servers into a domain environment. Defined and deployed group policy standard configurations for all computers. Doing so has established a standard and secured network environment.
- Implemented Veeam Backup and Recovery to improve backup retention capabilities. This utilizes disk-based storage appliances and a tape backup library. This provided reduced backup and recovery times as well as allowing for off-site backups. Implemented cloud storage backups for Microsoft Azure server deployments.
- Implemented Microsoft Azure Active Directory to provide single sign on for cloud applications and cloud-based file storage for business applications.
- Migrated our VMware based server environment to Microsoft Azure. Worked directly with a system integrator to complete the initial Azure tenant configuration and defined the server migration process.
- Upgraded IBM Notes and Domino versions corporate wide to maintain proper vendor supported versions.
- Migrated our corporate on-premises phone systems to a cloud hosted PBX solution. Coordinated the deployment of new phones which included provisioning and configuration. Uploaded the configuration to the cloud hosted PBX and tested to ensure a seamless transition.
- Deployed a Wireless Network infrastructure at all corporate locations. Migrated from Cisco wireless LAN controllers to cloud hosted Aruba controllers. This provided a centralized administration of the solution.
- Upgraded our unmanaged hub and switch deployment to Layer 3 switching allowing for VLANs for network segmentations and added security.
- Assisted with the deployment and administration of our Network Firewall solution. Working with our network security consultant I assisted with network appliance deployments and upgrades to maintain vendor supported versions. I maintain the firewall security policy and VPN accounts for mobile users.
- Replaced existing VPN and MPLS circuits with cloud managed an SDWAN infrastructure. This allowed us to reduce circuit costs and provided redundant links for each corporate location to be used in the event of network outages. This also improved VPN client connectivity by connecting them directly to the site where their services are located rather than back to the main office.
- Participated in network security audits and remediation actions needed based on audit findings. Prepared and submitted a report for upper management detailing the audit findings, remediation actions taken.
- Assisted with the implementation of our IBM server disaster recovery solution. This solution utilizes a server at the corporate headquarters and one at our designated hot sites. This is done by using storage level replication technology. In the event of an outage at our main site, users would be able to access the backup server remotely to continue daily operations.
- Maintain IBM server operating systems. Applied patches or updates. Planned and coordinated the OS version upgrades to maintain supported versions.
- Implemented PRTG network monitoring to provide real time alerts and monitoring of services and devices within the network. This allows us to proactively rather than reactively monitor the network and take action to address issues.
- Implemented a Mobile Device Management (MDM) solution corporate wide. This allows for inventory, configuration and remote support for all corporate devices. This was a no cost solution and has increased the ability to administer corporate devices.
- Conducted software audits required by various vendors. This was done by collecting software data and reporting the details back to the vendor to determine compliance or remediation actions. Where applicable I would take actions for remediation if any. Upon completion of the audit I would prepare and submit a detailed report for upper management which included audit findings and remediation actions if any.
- Coordinated the IT infrastructure design and set up for our SPIROL Brazil facility. This included identification of and provisioning of hardware, software, and services required.
- Coordinated the relocation of the IT infrastructure for our SPIROL Mexico facility. This involved network wiring, migration of the existing network circuit and all IT equipment to the new facility.
- Coordinated the network expansion project at the SPIROL Connecticut facility regarding IT related infrastructure. Worked with the cabling vendor and business partner to identify network and data ports to be installed. Incorporated an additional network closet utilizing fiber cabling back to the data center. As part of the project we also expanded our wireless infrastructure to cover the expansion.
